Role Overview

We are seeking an Applied Modeling & Systems Lead to own the core logic and calculation layer of the Source Forward platform.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, analytical modeling, and systems design. You will define how incentives, costs, savings, and ROI are modeled—and ensure that logic is implemented cleanly in production systems used by sales, leadership, and eventually customers.

What You'll Own

• The canonical logic for incentive eligibility, valuation, project costs, savings, and ROI
• Normalization of inputs across programs, units, time horizons, and cost structures
• Translation of domain rules and assumptions into clear, testable, maintainable code
• The integrity and explainability of numbers used for pricing, prioritization, and decision-making

What You'll Build

• Calculation engines for incentives, project economics, and ROI
• Data structures and services that expose logic to internal tools and Salesforce
• Frameworks that support scenario analysis and comparability across projects and portfolios
• Production-ready systems that evolve as programs, pricing, and assumptions change

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the modeling and calculation layer across incentives and project economics
• Apply analytical rigor and systems thinking to ensure consistency and defensibility
• Implement logic in clean, production-ready software (with or alongside other engineers)
• Collaborate closely with product, sales, and leadership to refine requirements
• Operate comfortably in ambiguity and iterate as inputs and rules evolve

• Engineers or analysts who have translated messy, real-world inputs into reliable systems
• Candidates comfortable working across modeling, data structures, and production code

• Comfort with databases, APIs, and backend services
• Ability to explain complex logic clearly and pragmatically

Bonus (not required):

• Experience in energy, utilities, real estate, construction pricing, fintech, or climate software

Compensation & Structure

• ~$175,000 annual contract, commensurate with experience and scope
• Performance-based bonus tied to delivery, adoption, and business impact
